Guy on BBC news special just said could play singles tennis against someone OUTSIDE your household. Has he got that right as first I have heard.

I don’t believe that is correct, you can play with someone in your own household only.

Where are we on the tory blame-dodging timeline? Looking like moving from Stage 2 to Stage 3 by the posts today?

1. Before the event - "well it's too early to tell / scaremongering / we have procedures in place"
2. At the time of the event - "now is not the time / rally round"
3. After the event - "well hindsight is always 20-20 / easy to criticise / lessons will be learned "

I never denied saying it, I merely said it was not intended to mean back to normal in the pre COVID sense.

You'd never made mention of 'February type conditions' up until that point.

Like I said, if you'd have just corrected yourself or clarified in that reply to GtW's reply to your original assertion, we all could have saved ourself some bother.

In Paris, commuters who use the Metro in rush hour would need to have a letter from their employers explaining why they need to use the metro at that time of the day.

I could believe this, most of our new cases could be from care homes (shameful).

Been watching PM answering questions in the House live. He is struggling somewhat to answer apart from the  friendly set up ones. He has got quite flustered a couple of times. I think one of the problems is he can't use his usual cheeky chap jokey routine on this subject. The one he is clearly lying about and not answering is the fact that he did not discuss the new measures with the devolved governments. His only answer was to keep saying that they could make their own decisions because they have different R values. But surely they are lower in many of the devolved regions so why would they make them stricter than England?

edit: Just said we are currently getting "billions of pieces of PPE to where they are needed". Billions? Honestly?

Yes, and the last three months shows us it will be an epidemic again if we relax too many measures.  But by all means imply this is all a fuss over nothing as you usually do.

Interestingly it includes this nugget:

Separate work at the Government's Porton Down laboratories to find out how many people have had the virus and recovered is ongoing.

While cases have gone down a lot there are still pockets of infections persisting.

Too early to start lifting the lockdown IMO. Certainly, I think everyone should err on the side of caution.

Maybe it's just an anomaly (I also notice that the number of contributors has suddenly surged from about 3 million to 3.5 million in a day, so that might have an effect), but the pessimist might say that it's the onset of symptoms after VE Day.
