6pm synops out. Herstmonceux also reached 34.5C. The other hottest ones don’t appear on the daily synop roundup.
Edit: Met Office tweet appears to confirm a three-way tie with Wiggonholt and Frittenden also on 34.5.

Very random. But poses many questions.
So were you in a noughties ska/punk band or just an actor?

35 today, then 36 on Monday to Wednesday.
What's interesting is that the MetO text forecast for today just says "Maximum temperature 34 °C".
It does, however, say this for tomorrow: "Maximum temperature 37 °C".
If you were up early in Aboyne this morning walking the dog, you'd no doubt need your coat and hat on to combat the 2c early morning chill..
Arpege has 37c for both Tuesday and Wednesday. Cloud and showery activity causing chaos in the models though so could be anything.

ECM has the highest temperatures in the Herstmonceux area with an extension NE towards Ashford and NW towards Haywards Heath, for the next 4 days at 91F (33C). You can probably add a couple of degrees to that.

Worrying Arome maps. It’s pretty good at modelling cloud. Hope it has a change of heart.
This morning's Arpege has a swathe of 36s and 37s across the SE on Wednesday. The 37s start at 2pm so who's to say it couldn't edge up to 38 somewhere, if the heat and sunshine hang in locally for Wednesday afternoon.

Clear blue skies here very different start to yesterday when we still managed 31c . Somewhere could be 36c today.

Its supposed to be the most accurate, but the Met Office clearly aren’t taking too much notice of it in their text forecasts.
Met Office SE written forecast suggesting max 37°C tomorrow.

Feels roasting already surely we can get widespread 35s today in the SE and EA if it stays this clear.

UKV, AROME etc only suggest a one-degree rise, which seems improbable. We'll see!
Sorry to disappoint you hot rampers but Stav on BBC weather forecast only going for 32c or 33c tops this afternoon. Slight downgrade from last night.
Sunny now and Temp on the rocket amazing that 32c forecast with n/e gusting to 20mph this afternoon maybe this is the bbc and met adjustment this morning.
Look at picture top right amazing day

It certainly doesn’t feel like a scorcher in the making. Thin patchy cloud and a fresh breeze, and Heathrow only 20.1C at 9am. I think 33-34C might be on the cards for the usual suspects but no higher. I think the Met have been guilty of overcompensating their manual adjustments to the modelled temperatures.
I was just thinking the same thing. It doesn’t feel like temperatures are surging in the way we’ve come to expect.
