My VP2 has reached 32.4C so far today but it does overreport for several reasons. I'd be surprised if any of the official stations get to 33C but 32C should be doable today. That would mean the GFS 00z was spot on with maximums.

29.0°C here.

The temperature was quite slow to get going today, but it has shot up since dinner time. It looks like it's a combination of high cloud gradually thinning and the hot air mass properly moving into place. The forecasts suggest it could be a late peak around here too, with today's high after 17:00.

31.1° here east of Liverpool currently.

I do wonder what effect, if any the European wildfires have on causing our hazy skies given the wind is from the south??

31.3c here and the cloud is just moving off and the sun less hazy, so I’m expecting it to go a degree higher.

I'm pleased the Northern Folk are experiencing the heat, they can then surely appreciate what it's like for us in the South with regular high 20s/low 30s....it gets a bit tough going after a week or so of heat retention. :)

Its mercifully levelled off at 26.0c since 1pm when illegal high clouds moved in.

With a dewpoint of 12.2c so far things are very comfortable.

Temp still rising steadily here, now up to 29.1C.

Seriously in disbelief about the projected GFS temps for us on Tuesday!  42C being now shown for North Lincs, and would be beyond incredible if we held the top spot for the all-time highest UK temp on record!

The air has that southerly warm feeling to it suddenly. Took a while to get going today but it's funny how you just feel the change

It’s the nights I’ll struggle with.  I always sleep with the window open even in winter because I sleep fitfully if I’m hot!  It’s going to be a long two days!

Here in Edinburgh, we haven't had a bit of sunshine all day and yet, that hasn't prevented us from experiencing our second hottest day of this year so far with a temperature of around 26°C as at 4pm BST (15:00 UTC) this afternoon, although the temperatures have dropped back slightly during the last hour.

We have of course, had hotter temperatures than that in the past, but I don't remember the temperatures ever getting as high as that here without there being at least a bit of sunshine around to boost those temperatures.

That makes this spell of weather which we are going into all the more remarkable, but that probably now makes me feel even more concerned about what could happen over the next couple of days if we do start to get more in the way of sunshine.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Better hope you don't have a water cut! South East Water have this to say about the water cut near Ashford:

"We've been refilling the local network since approximately 9.30am this morning, but unfortunately we don't have the amount of water in the local area needed to continue doing this.

"As a result, you might experience no water, or low water pressure for the rest of the day.

"We're really sorry that this has happened, however the demand locally has exceeded the amount of water we're able to supply."

Nice to know that if you lose supply your supplier might not have enough water to refill the pipes!

Today has felt on the whole fairly comfortable sat outside. More haze than expected but it's not had the humidity we normally get with high temperatures.

I can feel the wind taking on that hairdryer effect right now.

Tomorrow is a whole new level though!

This would be a very respectable yearly high on its own.
