Good!

Although it's really unpleasant here already - currently 26.6c. Has risen 3c in the last hour.

Once again there's a hell of an inversion at my place. 18.3C compared to 26C elsewhere.... when it gets mixed out the rise will be insane.

UKV 3z has 43c around Goole and 39-40c here. Heat reducing by 3-4pm, bit earlier on Met Office App.
UKV maybe a couple of degrees too high in places yesterday though.

So the overnight minima were not all that impressive in most places due to a dip in the early part of the night. The low in many places was around 1am before the rise started but that was enough to take a lot of them below the old record. Looks like we will still end up with a new record somewhere though.

As for the max, who knows? I think we can make it to 39, but 40C feels like a lot to ask as everything would have to align perfectly and we know it rarely does on days like this!

Even if one station cops an isolated shower, there are still countless other stations that won’t.

Still under the inversion in Leysdown, just about to hit 20C now. (It goes to show that even with an inversion, things are still heating up relatively quickly). Neighbouring stations are showing 27C.

Last night when I went to bed Arome was showing maxes of 41C. This morning 38C.

Looks like it’s not happening this year after all.

I still think we'll just about exceed 40C today, but it doesn't look as certain or widespread as I thought yesterday.

It is either Kenley or Emley depending on how it is worked out.  I am hoping it is Emley as it wound be quite comical for the record to go from Brighton (you can imagine being sat comfortably on Brighton beach all night) to a windswept Pennine Moor (where you can't)

It would be good if the 300m high TV mast on Emley Moor had temp stations on its structure, to see what they read and where the optimum heat spot was.
