It's now 33°C here in Hawick as I write which on its own, could be enough to beat the all time Scottish record if that was to be officially confirmed.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Its bad at that too.

But as I say, for precip type, its the best model there is.

I'm sorry, but a spell of albeit exceptionally warm weather in one tiny bit of the world does not prove anything at all.

Global warming denial a criminal offence? What else would you like to outlaw? Thinking naughty thoughts?! Come on - the whole scientific community should be reliant on questioning debate. Shutting down alternate viewpoints merely exacerbates the problem.

Carlisle and Redesdale camp, both close to the border, are showing 34C so surely the Scottish record will go today.

I never would have thought that would happen, double checked on a mercury thermometer and it's correct.

Heathrow reported 40.2C nearly an hour ago now. Has that been exceeded anywhere yet.

I’m worried about my rabbits, hope they can get through the next couple of hours.
They are in the shade, given them frozen 2l water bottles wrapped in wet towels (which they are ignoring), lots of fresh water, cold carrot slices etc.
They don’t look happy! Even tried spraying their fur with fine mist of cold water but that just makes them leg it - last thing I want is to over exert them.
Bringing them inside is not much of a choice either, hutch is too big for me to lift on my own, plus very hot inside anyway.
Any other pet owners concerned?

In the office today and have just been for a walk around the terminal and car park area. Luton airport is now at 38C so this is the first time in this country that I have experienced 100F in old money. I was here for the 37C we got back in 2019 but today the wind is stronger and the heat drier. Feels like being in a desert.
The evapo-transpiration rate must be off the scale today by UK standards!
