However, that is starting to look like just another blip because every sing time that it gets the least bit wet for any length of time, it always dries up again very soon afterwards and it seems as though we just CANNOT get a properly sustained period of wet weather any more, such as what is needed in order to properly make up the overall rainfall deficit in the longer term.

Because of that, it wouldn't surprise me one if every month from now on during the rest of this year went on to be substantially drier than average again with even this month being drier than average in terms of the number of official rain days, especially as were now about to go into our third La Nina winter in a row with that being blamed by many for the persistent drier than average pattern of weather which we keep on experiencing.

That is what I've become so tired of now, and that is why my overall interest in this weather has been draining away quite a lot recently (hence the reason why I don't post as much here any more as much I used to).

Absolutely vile, horrendous and totally rank September that has so far produced a ridiculous 108.6mm  Already the wettest I have recorded - the previous high was just 86.4mm in 2009.

The 3rd to 9th has to rate as the worst ever week of September weather with the worst possible synoptics producing 87.8mm of rain, virtually no sunshine and horrrific temperatures without precedent in historic records. Mean min was 14.4C which is hardly ever recorded once - last years record September had no min this mild - never mind as an average over a week. At the same time the mean max was a near average 16.7C

So glad I was not here to endure that even if the weather I experienced in London was also crap it didn't even come close to that on the scale of abject horror.

Now I am being forced to endure my second least favourite synoptics which are producing horrid cold unpleasant days with average nights and daily unwanted rainfall to add to the already ludicrous total

Now on 481.4mm for the year so running above the average of 469mm to this point. Running 12-month total continuing above average at 840mm. Hasn't been below average in almost two years and there hasn't been two consecutive dry months since March/April 2021

Sinply awful and a prolonged dry spell is long overdue but unlikely to happen with the wettest quarter of the year to endure. The average of 234mm for Oct-Dec is bad enough but the last three years have averaged a horrific 323mm

Not really been enough rain this month to account for the deficit,  went to Fewston reservoir yesterday and it still looked very low, similar to August, i couldn't notice any difference.

Not had any days of high rainfall (15-20mm plus) as far as I can recall, just bits and pieces.
