The colours are usually best just before they are all blown away - have been good this year.
The field maples are particularly yellow this year in this part of the UK. A good year for acorns after a non crop last year.

In the New Forest the ponies are being greedy and eating them, which is not good for the ponies. Could do with more pigs being turned out this year to hoover the glut of acorns up - there are 600 turned out and will be brought back to their home farm on Nov 8th before they go on to create damage by rootling around.
