The rain has finally moved on and I'm on 24.4 mm here at the harbour area, which is actually the low end of my forecast 20 mm to 50 mm (only because we missed out on the rain last night). However that 24.4 mm may not be today's final total with further thundery/blustery showers expected this evening.

Already well over half the monthly average with a ludicrous 42.8mm following on from 96.8mm in October and 138.2mm in September

So 277.8mm for the vile autumn thus far. Pretty much a certaintly that 300mm will be exceeded for the 2nd autumn in succession

Hard to tell, given the considerable variuation there can be in rainfall over a short distance, but this could well be the first time since 1940/41 that successive autumns have breached 300mm

1941 had one of the wettest days on record with 76mm falling on 10th October. Nothing like that this year or last. Just two hideously grim and unrelentingly poor mild soggy washout horror shows.

Tuesday was the wettest day so far with 33.0mm which is the highest daily total I've recorded in November over the past 18 years. Surprisingly low given that both September and October have recorded daily totals over 50mm.

Haven't had a dry spell of more than three consecutive days so far this autumn and last year was the same until 16th -19th November.

Utterly repulsive
