To Ashdown Forest today to get a fix of snow before Sunday's thaw. The depth was 10-12cm (might have been more when it first fell) within about 10 miles S & W of Ashdown, and more of course in the direction of London. Very little near the Sussex coast; a thin covering was hanging on in shady spots up to 25 miles west of Ashdown. Most of the photos were taken around Gills Lap, in the cetre of the Forest, and better known as Galleons Leap in Winnie-the-Pooh books.
