The first 8 I've seen forecast this year via the MetO - it's a shame they removed the "map" forecast, as that was a much easier way of spotting them. (It may well have gone by the time you click the link!)

Reading's first 7 on the 25th, surprised today only just made it above a 6, it's been a stunning cloud free day. Spent lunchtime glued to a flight tracking app charting the planes coming over mostly from Amsterdam heading to the Eastern seaboard. Small things amuse...

Lots of 8s in the MetO forecast but none materialised yet as far as I can see. Chilton has had 5 7s recently (23-26 and 29) but Reading has been stuck in the 6s.

Reading and Weybourne just sneaked a 7 today, with Chilton at 7.3

Camborne probably getting some higher values but not publishing graphs regularly. Disappointing.

Apart from Camborne's 8.5 on 10th, the readings in the South, despite glorious sunshine, have been surprising if not disappointing. Plenty of 6+ and 7s but the forecast 8s seem to be more frequent than ever. This in different airmasses, including lower RH easterlies which often bring higher values.

Leeds not far away from a 9 today, Camborne over and Chilton leading the way with a 9.5 or 9.6 - is that approaching a UK record?

Peak UV season now behind us, and the dreadful July leaves a trail of disappointing readings at Chilton (Reading seems to have given up the ghost).
The 9s didn't materialise and we have to go back to 2nd July for the last 8+ (8.3) with just a few 7s since. Only notable was a 7.4 on 1st August. Might get a late 7 on Wednesday or Thursday but 5s and 6s are probably the best order of the day for the remainder of summer.

Interesting to see GFS ekes out a UV 7 here on Sunday... that's got to be very unusual, 2 months out from the solstice!
