Reading having eleven 6s + so far this month with today's 6.7 currently the highest, so no 7s.
8s continue to be forecast from time to time in the south.
Chilton however managed 7.3 on Wednesday and 7.4 today.

Presumably higher ozone today, but either way surprised to see Reading didn't even reach a 7 today, a stunning blue sky day. None of the other usual suspects hit 7 either.

UV season 2024: summary
An unremarkable season really. Data at Reading:
Only 8 was 24th June
Last 7 4th July
6.7 recorded on 9th August
Last 6 13th August
Last 5 29th August
Last 4 18th September
Last 3 4th October (unless there are late season surprises, which I doubt, as MetO has been forecasting 3s through the first 3rd of October, almost all of which have failed to hit the mark). W can still get 2 just into November but the last 2 is usually the last 10 days of October.
Have a good off-season (I know Retron among others will be glad to see the back of it) until after the New Year.

FWIW, and IIRC, the Met Office values are rounded up, and not in the usual way - a 2.0 will present as a 2, but 2.1 up to 3.0 will show as a 3. That explains the forecast 3s but measured values staying below.

Yep, apologies; you did explain that before. In the interests of skin safety, it makes sense to round up rather than off.
