17.9C, There was thick fog earlier, which is now just mist. Almost an autumnal feel with the smell of September/early October.
An unusual start to the day.

A bright start with a lot of medium level cloud, calm, 14 C

The monthly mean is 14.5 C (-0.4 C)

Rainfall 64mm (80%)

Sun 76hrs (44%)

With 8 days to go we've not even reached 50% of July's sunshine (Swanston weather station)

I'm currently down in Hawick in the Scottish Borders having travelled down there yesterday.

I'm currently sitting outside in my Mum's garden and there are some occasional sunny intervals at times.

As has been the case far too often during this year (and not just during this summer), there's far too much pesky cloud around once again and it's a bit breezy though not too windy.

Currently around 18°C here in Hawick.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

20 C here in Edinburgh at noon but mostly cloudy with very few sunny spells, a westerly breeze today so no influence off the sea

Not as good  day as forecast with dull start then 2 or 3 hours better but sudden shower just before 5pm just as I finished baling a field of hay but I might have started next one if it had stayed dry.

Another warm and sunny day today, but at least there was a bit of a breeze. The dewpoint was firmly in the "muggy" category for most of the day.

Currently partly cloudy, 22.9, dew 16.0, the high being a relatively late 24.8.

There's been just 1mm of rain over the last 9 days, and I see that tonight's rain keeps getting downgraded on the GFS... the raw MetO has none at all.

(28C upstairs, with the windows open all day, so a/c needed again this evening.)

Not only would this be the lowest ever total for the sunniest day of July but it would be lower than for any month between April and August. Can only find two other months were no day managed 50% of the possible sun and they were the two months with the lowest recorded monthly sun totals: December 1903 with 7 hours and January 1996 with 10 hours.

The grimness of 21st Century summers is truly unparallelled within modern history.

Dull and clammy with low cloud and a mod SW breeze making the current 17 C & low 90% H feel cool and fresh. Yesterday was similar with the skies but did manage a peak of 22 C which felt fairly muggy.

A decent day today. A cloudy morning (=ideal for gardening, I filled up half the garden waste bin with various weeds, trimmings and brambles), then the first proper dollop of rain in 10 days. And to cap it off, there shouldn't be any difficulty getting to sleep tonight.

It's currently 18.6, dew 17.4 (i.e. muggy), with a high of 21.6. Last night's low was a warm 15.4 and there's been 2.6mm of rain today.

Unfortunately for me, this one day interlude is as good as it gets!
