Mostly sunny and breezy here, but at long last the fresher air has arrived. The dewpoint reached 18.4 this morning, stayed in the mid teens all afternoon, and now it's gone into single figures. It's still relatively warm though, at 21.2, dew 9.7.
That single-figure dewpoint is interesting, as it implies a single-figure minimum tonight IF winds fell light enough... I don't think they will, but even so it'll be the most comfortable night for sleeping in several weeks.

Today's maximum temperature here at Edinburgh Gogarbank is officially confirmed as just 17.2°C which once again, is rather disappointing for the time of time.

It's also very windy here with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching exactly 40.0 mph from the WSW with a few showers around as well at times.

All in all, I will just be glad now to see the back of this summer once and for all (which has been rather disappointing here overall) as it's already feeling rather autumnal here.🤢

Currently around 12°C here in Edinburgh.

Sadly there was too much of a breeze last night to get a coveted single-figure minimum. It says a lot as to how very warm it's been of late that a 12C minimum, only a degree below average, actually feels cool and fresh!

Currently it's clear, with a very light breeze from the west. 11.9, dew 9.1, and that's the overnight low. Yesterday's high was a warm 25.6.

14.3°C and cloudy with some light rain currently. Is this the start of autumn proper or will summer have a final say after this more unsettled spell?

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is officially confirmed as only a very disappointing (for this time of year) 16.1°C which makes today our coolest day of this month so far once again.

In addition to that, it's also very windy with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 37.1 mph from the SSW.

We might not have seen the worst of those winds just yet either as we will be under an official Met Office yellow warning for wind during the early part of tomorrow morning thanks to ex-Hurricane Ernesto.

Currently around 15°C here in Edinburgh.

Last night and this morning has been very windy here in Edinburgh with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 39.8 mph from the SW although it's not actually been quite as windy as forecast given the yellow warning.

There was some rain for a while during last night but that has cleared away with just the odd light shower still around. However, this morning is starting off on a mostly overcast note although that cloud has started to break up a little bit to allow the odd glimpse of the Sun.

Last night was quite a warm night here in Edinburgh. The overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank is officially 13.1°C but that was actually recorded during yesterday morning.

As I write, the temperature here in Edinburgh is around 16°C and that has been enough for yesterday's official maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank to be adjusted slightly upwards to 16.4°C. Since the official observation day for yesterday doesn't end until 10am BST (09:00 UTC) this morning, that could yet be adjusted a bit further upwards before then.

A loud, stormy night and still gusting over 40mph this morning. Garden damage 🙄 A few days of autumn up here already!

On a more positive note though, the Sun has now come out which is at least something.

Gusty SW winds and the front seems to be going through with barely more than the odd spot of rain.
The forecast for here has rain in it for the next couple of days but I won't count on it raining.

In other news, activity on the sinkhole out at the front.
Dorset Council now looking at it in some depth with radar in due course after some cone placements the day after I reported it
Three days + work to sort it out once they find the reason. We live on the old WW2 Warmwell Airfield.
God knows what's under the Green to cause the sinkage.
Hopefully not running sand or a bomb but the current guess is subsidence caused by...

A breezy day with plenty of drizzle about. Cooler than late with temperatures around 18.5C - more akin to early October than late August. However it's doesn't feel cold because it's very humid still.
A minor blip in what has been a lovely August.

Today has been a fairly bright day here in Edinburgh but with a total of just 5.4 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank where today's highest temperature is around 18°C making today slightly warmer than yesterday.

However, the winds have never really died down here during today with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank going on to reach 42.3 mph from the WSW, thus making today our windiest day of this month so far.

In addition to that, it is now already clouding over here as Storm Lilian makes its approach towards us but with the actual centre of that low pressure system being forecast to move right over here during the overnight period, the winds should at least die down here as that happens.

Currently around 15°C here in Edinburgh.
