A thoroughly wet and miserable start to today here in Edinburgh.

This morning is also cooler than of late and the temperature is currently only around 10°C.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

The rain has now already cleared away from here much earlier than forecast and the Sun has now come out come out once again.

Looks like we had about 16mm up to 0700. We were just north of the storm so we've only experienced light winds so far. As John reported, brightening up nicely from the west.

Very windy for August here, with gusts into the high 30s (was low 40s earlier). A warm night and very humid again this morning with plenty of cloud, albeit that should clear soon and then the humidity will fall away.
Presently overcast, 19.8, dew 17.8. Last night's low was 18.2 and the high yesterday was just 20.6 - a cool day for once.

As posted in the precipitation thread there is some extremely heavy rain over the Channel at the moment. 
Woke up to steady rain here. Yesterday was our last day in Cornwall and was an unexpectedly nice day - sunny and very warm on a sheltered beach, with some big big waves to play in!

A finger thin squall line has just passed through here, rainfall rates mostly around 40mm/hr but peaked at just over 70mm/hr.

Currently at 15.4mm for the day and a max of 15.2c.

The complete opposite here - so much for a morning of constant rain, as shown in every single model! It's currently overcast but dry, 14.8, dew 13.7. There was 4.4mm of rain overnight and, assuming the models get back on track, plenty more to come later.

The overnight low was 13.7 and the high yesterday was a warm 24.7.

Today was supposed to be bright here in Edinburgh with just the odd shower but instead of that, we've had quite a number of heavy showers and after a bright and sunny start to today, there's  not much much brightness around now.

In addition to that, the temperature here in Edinburgh is currently no higher than around 15°C which isn't even the least bit warm for this time of the year.🤢

Currently overcast, with light rain, 15.6 / dew 14.8, the high so far being 16.6 (around 6C below normal for late August). There's been 16.8mm of rain today, as much as the last month and a half combined!

I think you're being optimistic. Although the rain has stopped here, it's still cloudy and the temp is 16.8C. So any clearance will take its time to get to you, probably too late for the sun to do much.

A useful amount of rain for the garden, but nothing like the deluge promised by the MetO warning

Well the forecast was sort of right except there was no heavy rain, just persistent light rain. I seemed to be in the direct firing line albeit the brightest echoes did seem to glance me all of the time as per usual. So I have ended up with just 10.1mm (still the most in a day since July 15th) with the cold front squall just adding another 0.3mm. Did anybody in the  S.E get near to the forecast potential of 70mm?

A fraction under 12mm here. A good soaking that will save me money not having to water the garden, but nowhere near the potential flooding of the warnings.
