The first noticable amount of rain overnight and perhaps the drought is about to break. 13.8mm, doubling the month to date and perhaps some more  welcome rain in the net few days. Seems to be much wetter further west e.g Wentworth.

50 mm in the 12 hours ro mid night  plus a further 11 since.  . I'm sure some areas nearby have had more since Friday as we missed Fridays storms here . Month to date just topped 150 mm

Nearby Rothamsted recorded 42mm of rain in the last 24 hours. It's been raining quite heavily overnight so I expect that the 48 hour record will be a fair bit higher. Amazing to see that Woburn in Bedfordshire recorded 108mm yesterday!

Only a modest 10.8 mm overnight, the sun has come out now. Seems Folkestone has been spared the worse but it does look like West Kent had far more.

Yes they removed the midlands from the warning earlier you could see it was a poor call last night the rain was just not heading far enough northwards .

Heavy for a while this morning but not as bad as near coast anyway 'only' another 5.2mm and there isn't a lot more on radar at present.
