Even during such bland conditions it's surprising how variable the weather can be from day to day and from one place to another . Yesterday and indeed Monday the sun made an appearance and sent temperature up to 14 to 15 c where as today under persistent low cloud mist and occasional drizzle it's struggled at a chilly feeling 10 .
Conditions favoured areas north of high ground such as Edinburgh whereas here on south coast it's been some 6 Celsius cooler

Exceptionally gloomy today - the sort of day where you need the lights on all day long.

There were some promising signs earlier, in that the uniform dark grey lifted to a palette of lighter greys, but it's now back with a vengeance.

The temperature's also dropped again, having reached the giddy heights of 11.8 earlier it's now down to 10.6, and there's a gentle breeze from the east.

10.6, dew 9.4. Last night's low was 10.9, warmer than it is now!

There was a fresh SE wind (F3 to 4) earlier with a notable surf on the coast. Inland less wind but still noticeable.
Gloomy of course.

Grey and gloomy here this morning and 10 C with no wind.
Matt Taylor has just pointed out on Breakfast weather that over the last 11 days, Basingstoke has seen only 18 minutes of sun and Altringham 24 minutes. Fife has seen 36hrs

I've recorded a single digit day today with a max of 9.2 C at 1 am last night and 7.8 C at 6 pm today. All under overcast skies, of course.
