Liverpool have signed Charlie Adam

I just hope we've not paid very much for him

I think Utd have signed just what they needed in Young. Probably going to sign an attacking/play-making midfielder, too - Sneijder? And possibly another striker, should anyone be daft enough to pay £12-15m for Berbaflop.

I've said it umpteen times before: Dalglish's transfer dealings in his first speall as Liverpool manager brought about the beginning of the end of our dominance (his work carried on with aplomb by Souness, Evans and Houllier  )

It seems to me that he's not learned the lesson - although now his crap signings cost even more money.

Now, Chelsea want/bidded for LM from spurs. Is he really whats needed? I'm not sure, especially at the price that'll need to be paid. Chelsea need a creative midfielder and LM provided just 4 assists all season I'm led to believe. Nothing'll happen until AVB has assessed all the players he's already got I'd imagine anyway

The way Sunderland are going at the moment we will have a completely new starting 11 for the opening game of the season..........let's hope we have plenty of pre-season games at a good level or I fear the worst...........changing so many players rarely works.

Footballing thug gets his comeuppance

Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has been left out of the team's pre-season tour of America after the US Embassy refused to grant him a visa.

In 2008 he was jailed after admitting assault in Liverpool city centre.

The FA have changed their rule on fielding weakened teams for this forthcoming season, so now any side can choose whatever line-up they want from their 25-man squads without fear of being fined.

It was a stupid rule, glad to see it finally abolished!

Sandro out for three months. Good news for Liverpool and Arsenal at least. Won't make any difference to Manure, the Chavs or Shiteh.

Leaked letter from Daniel Levy to Ron Gourlay:

Mr. Gourlay,

Further to your correspondence and renewed pursuit of Luka Modric, I am writing to you to tell this player is not for sale at ANY price.

Whilst I commend the work you have done in getting to the player with the use of an unnamed Iranian agent, I can only apologise for the club’s stance in this instance.

On 1st September 2011, Luka Modric will be a Tottenham Hotspur player. I hope this is clear and the club does not welcome any other offers.

Further to this, the club would like to make an enquiry about Fernando Torres. As a result of his clear dip in form and lack of goals, the club think it would be appropriate to offer £14million plus £2.6million in add-ons for International and Premier League honours.

We hope you are satisfied with this offer and look forward to hearing your positive response in the near future.

May I close this note with a piece of advice; Nigel Reo-Coker is currently a free agent and would be a very good addition to your current squad.

I look forward to sharing a beverage with you and Roman on Tuesday 20th December.

Kind Regards,

Daniel Levy
Chairman,
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Plc.

Leaked letter from Daniel Levy to Ron Gourlay:

Mr. Gourlay,

Further to your correspondence and renewed pursuit of Luka Modric, I am writing to tell you this player will be joining your club shortly.

Whilst I commend the work you have done in getting to the player with the use of an unnamed Iranian agent, I can only apologise for the club’s stance in trying to make the fans happy.

On 1st September 2011, Luka Modric will be a Chelsea player. I hope this is clear, although the club does require an improved offer, just to ensure we can fleece as much money for the overrated midfielder as possible.

Further to this, the club would like to make an enquiry about Fernando Torres. As a result of his clear dip in form and lack of goals, the club think it would be appropriate to offer £114million plus £2.6million in add-ons for International and Premier League honours.

We hope you are satisfied with this offer and look forward to hearing your positive response in the near future.

May I close this note with a piece of advice; Nigel Reo-Coker is currently a free agent and would be a very good replacement for most of our midfield. So sign him up before we do and end up placing a £20million price tag on his head.

I look forward to sharing a beverage with you and Roman on Tuesday 20th December.

Kind Regards,

Daniel Levy
Chairman,
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Plc.

The Tevez deal to Corinthians has broken down.

He'll probably throw another strop to try to force a move to a European club now - which will be so much nearer his family in Argentina.

Citeh will probably still sign Aguera as well.

Like you say, he'll now be a multi-millionnaire and could have bankrolled his move should he have really wanted to.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has asked all the club's northern-based players, including recently signed goalkeeper Shay Given, to relocate to Birmingham.

Daily Mirror wrote:

Sheesh, how unpopular does McLeish want to make himself with his players? I appreciate he likes the toughguy approach, but there's a line, you know....

On the WBA front, now that Shay Given has gone to Villa, Ben Foster should be more availible for a move to help solve the clubs recurring goalkeeping crisis. If not, there's always Rob Green...

And apparently the club are still pressing with prodding needles and thermometers into Owen Hargreaves, waiting before everyone comes back from America (and Jeremy Peace to accend from hell, back to the surface of the earth) to organise a possible deal. At this rate, with the likes of Hargreaves, Ishmail Miller, James Morrison, Giles Barnes having been treated, we should either open a new hospital wing at The Hawthorns, or rename the club to Holby City.

I know he’s a scummy little scrote, but I thinkNewcastlehave made a massive blunder in releasing Joey Barton. This comes on the back of them also letting Kevin Nolan go. What are they thinking? These two players (along with Carroll before he got injured, then sold) were the standout performers atNewcastlelast season. It seemed Barton was maturing on the field, too, and there were few if any reports of off-field shenanigans.

I think Barton would be a strong addition on the field to most teams (what Arsenal need?) – the only question is if he’d be disruptive in the dressing room.
