Hodgson was just as bad. Paul Koncesky is not prem class let alone a supposed top 5 side. For the life of me, I never understood why Johnson was bought for £18M? He can't defend and yet he is a defender, which is why Chelsea got rid. Although I don't remember whether that was a RH signing or not

The way Sunderland are going at the moment we will have a completely new starting 11 for the opening game of the season..........let's hope we have plenty of pre-season games at a good level or I fear the worst...........changing so many players rarely works.

If Tevez is genuine in that he simply wants to move home to see his daughters grow up, then you have to have a little respect and some sympathy with the guy. But he must be sitting on 10's of millions of pounds in the bank after so many well managed moves, why didn't he pay the 5 million Man City wanted over what Corinthians could afford himself?

These two players (along with Carroll before he got injured, then sold) were the standout performers atNewcastlelast season. It seemed Barton was maturing on the field, too, and there were few if any reports of off-field shenanigans.

I think Barton would be a strong addition on the field to most teams (what Arsenal need?) – the only question is if he’d be disruptive in the dressing room.
