Morning folks, this was the scene below that greeted me out the office window about an hour ago!
The swings of spring coninue around here. We saw record breaking temps for Sunday just down the Lakeshore from here in St.Catharine's where the temp reached 17c/63f, it was 15c/59f down at Hamilton Harbour and 11c/52f on-the-mountain at the Airport. The lower temp there due to the, at that time significant snow still lying on the ground.
In a few days we went from that, thru some rain on Monday to Heavy Snow flurries overnight and into this morning! Currently -2c and the snow flurries expected to last thru much of the day.
Monitoring a potentially more significant snowevent that may come our way on Friday night into Saturday. An Alberta Clipper could bring between 5-8cm, not unusual for this track but fairly obselete for the time of the year to see snow from this. Will keep you posted.
Brett Anderson is amongst others including TWN who has issued their long range forecast for Spring across Canada and here it is : http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-blogs/anderson/spring-2013-forecast-for-canada/7941979. General theme is that Western Canada will be cooler and wetter than average and more rain than Vancouver in particular has seen so far this year, while Eastern Canada is warmer but in some spots stormier than average including Southern Ontario where Brett says rising temps will bring an early Severe Thunderstorm threat to the Windsor-Toronto corridor.
This spell of winter could be the last if the lrf is correct. Not long now Graeme to MLB 2013 hits off, i've been trying to see some of the World Baseball comp down in Puerto Rico over the past week....Canada not covering themselves in glory i may add !
Take Care
