I'm amazed there has even been 0.1mm of rain in England & Wales this month. Wonder how they average it out? Was there a rogue shower over Snowdonia?

We managed our first 25C of the year yesterday as Solent M.R.S.C peaked at exactly 25.0C.

This is the equal latest date on which 25C has been reached since 1999. The last time we were as late as this in seeing the first 25C was in 2004 (if we ignore the old rooftop site at the London Weather Centre).

Don't take too much notice of the Hadley data so far this month. The estimates for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th are way too high.

As at the 6th Hadley is at 12.95C whereas my estimate is 12.42C so over 0.5C of difference there.

Up to yesterday my CET estimate increases to 12.61C. That is 0.66C below average for the first week of June.

Over the next couple of weeks we can expect the CET to be close to average. That should see the mean reach 13.54C by the 21st which is only 0.2C below the 1971-2000 mean although still well below average compared to the 1981-2010 mean.

The temperature still has not exceeded 22ºC here in 2013. The last occasion where 22ºC had not been reached at Birmingham airport at this stage in the year was in 1988, where the first 22ºC was recorded on June 14th.

I'll echo what Dev said.  It's been sunny, warm and dry all month here too and I couldn't wish for better weather.  Just shows how regional the weather can be.

June may be below-average so far here, but that would only be down to the chilly nights - avg. max 19.5C, avg. min 6.8C. 5 of the last 8 days have reached or exceeded 20C, not bad for early June.

Our highest temp this year is 22.9C back in May.

The sunshine has been nice - but the night time temps have led to a below average CET.

Not suprsingly really.

The cool night temps have been great IMO. Amazing the impact they have had on the CET so far, considering the run of fairly warm feeling days we have had until today. Then again I guess the sun is almost at it highest so makes it feel warmer than the actual air temp......

It has struck me that we have yet to record a daily CET mean of 15.0C this year.

I am sure we must be getting close to it - I am guessing here that 1972 must have been late as that was a very cold June.

That June had a CET of 11.8C

1972 takes the prize by miles for the latest year to record a 15C CET. It wasn't reached until 13th July. Fresh air is second, followed by 1819 on the 2nd July.
