Has anyone seen the rain that's supposed to cross England and Wales this evening?

I can see a couple of possible candidates on the sat. imagery, but radar imagery reveals little int he way of precipitation. If anything things could improve here in the far SW as a few breaks in the cloud are apparent.

It's moving through here atm - patchy and showery in nature and mostly light. The local forecsat has just mentioned the possibilty of some heavier bursts later tonight with thunder possible! 4.1mm from this afternoon's rain brings my total up to 5.1mm.

However, a useful 3.3 mm of rain has fallen this afternoon, all useful stuff for the lawn (every little helps).

Many a true word spoken in jest! The forecasted rain failed to materialise here today so the dry spell has begun - I'll now be counting the number of consecutive dry days and will post them in this thread occasionally to keep it alive over the next 2 weeks at least!

A little rain overnight bringing us up to 0.8mm.

On reflection last night and the previous night wasn't rain but heavy dew registering.

Now 1.0mm after 0.2mm of dew.

0.6mm   total 1.5mm.

Total of 1.5mm not expected to change for a while.
