However (and this is a confession in itself ), whenever I do my daily Cloud Master forecast for a certain social network web site, I always use the GFS output for forecasting the temperature (yes, I know other outputs are available) and it has never really let me down in terms of accuracy whereas NAVGEM seems to overcook it, while our dear old METO undercooks it (and besides, the resolutions in the latter two aren't as good anyway - at least for a freebie output).
Hence my "negative" thinking about it all as far as this end of Kent is concerned, but it might be a IMBY thing more than anything.

Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how things does pan out one way or the other, in terms of it being a learning process as I continue to get to grips with our flickle climate.  If it does turn out fine, warm and sunny then excellent as I put everything to one side and try and enjoy it, but on the other hand if it does turn out to be cool and misty more often than not then I wouldn't be surprised.

Very unscientific this, but it does kind of seem like the pattern of recent years has shifted east this time, with Greenland Blocks becoming Scandi Blocks and mid-Atlantic ridges/highs becoming UK ridges/highs.

So maybe next year it will be Russian Blocks and northern Europe Highs - hot and thundery for the UK

Weybourne peaked at 25.2c yesterday we should at least 10 more days of 25c+. Must be 7 years since that happened.

Erm....really hazy here, definitely not the wall to wall sunshine promised. Still nice temps though and hopefully a per-cursor to the main event.

Hazy here, but only because it's slightly humid. Not a cloud in the sky and the haze is not impeding on the sunshine at all - only the strong breeze is pegging back the temperatures somewhat.

Just as forecast here.  Wall to wall sunshine and blue sky all day, though it's a paler blue now and slightly hazey and 25c in my back garden.

From a southern point of view I have to ask is this up and coming spell of find weather just a prolonged warm spell rather a heat wave.

Edit: the latest MetO written forecast for Grampian region has a forecast max of 23c for tomorrow.   And the computer generated forecast for Aberdeen also has 23c.  Cooler on Sunday with more of a sea breeze towards the coast though, hence perhaps only 16c there (but still warmer inland) - comp generated forecast has 18c for Aberdeen.  Then 23c again on Monday.   All in all pretty good for that part of the world!   Computer suggests it may be Monday before Glasgow sees 22c though.
