Tri-lakes I assume Darren? I bet the alpacas were feeling the heat :)

Just back from a fantastic family wedding weekend in a picture-perfect Hampshire village - thatched cottages, marquee behind the village hall, cider straight from the barrel, paddling in the brook to cool off. Ok i was feeling the heat a bit in my suit and drank more water than booze during the afternoon, but I'm not complaining! Rounded off with drinks and dinner in the garden and still warm enough for shorts and T shirt at 10pm.

Flawless weather like this reminds you just what an English summer day can be, and it is all too rare.

Had a great day down the local country park, sat round the lake with a picnic and some beers/wine. Was really warm at onestage and hardly a breeze.

It's cooled down nicely now though with the NE'ly kicking in, atleast can sleep.

So hope we can hold onto the fine weather through next weekend also.

Anyone know what it's like in Leysdown-on-Sea?

For those who are curious for whatever reason - in Leysdown it's actually been very pleasant with abundant sunshine. There's been a sea breeze throughout and the temperature hasn't gone above 22C. The breeze means it's easy to keep the house at around 23C, which is fine.

There doesn't look like much change over the coming week either, which is fine by me!

You twisted one way and another. All because I suggested that there was an indication it could get warmer from mid April. And it did. It wasn't a heatwave nor wall to wall sunshine. I didn't say it would be (indeed I said it wouldn't). It's quite beyond me why you thought this so offensive to react in the way you did. It was ugly.

So despite your superior attitude you were quite wrong. Wrong in the way you characterised what I was saying and wrong in your interpretation. I think that is what you don't like.

You get a lot of credit for the hard work you put into some of your posts and that's great. It's a shame you let your nasty side undermine that.

Hmmm... It was only a bit of leg pulling 😊

Back on topic (please) we have a superb base to kick off here today. It's already 18.8c. I wonder if we'll break 30c 👍

Now that Kent has finally latched onto the idea that we can actually do summer-like weather, I wonder how much of a warming effect it is going to have on the surrounding seas = more in the way of thundery activity later on in the season?

Of course, this is assuming this summer-like theme doesn't actually fall apart the moment the kids break up for their summer holiday!

Really rather glad of the cloud that's rolled in here overnight, has made for a much cooler morning and hence a more civilised commute. Sun starting to break through now though, currently 16c after an overnight low of 14c.

Have had to pull the windows in at work because of this NE'ly...actually started to feel chilly with the gusts lol.

Lovely in the Sun though when sheltered from the wind.  I make it 19*c

I should imagine the front of my west-facing house would become boiling hot this afternoon as the sun swings around to face it, NE breeze or not.

Up to 24.4c here now. I think we may fall just short of 30c. There's a bit of a breeze which may just cap it

Now up to 27.5C though it really doesn't feel like it in the this breeze.

I've taken multiple shaded readings and all very similar 27.2C - 27.5C with very little temperatures change in the past hour 🙂

25.4c here currently. This breeze is definitely going to stop us making 30c, which is a shame.
