Could be the hottest day of the year here, though there is already cloud appearing, so I suspect we won't be.

Just like last night, looks like another night awake.

Why can't it drop to 10c at night

PS I'm going to assume the 31C at Bournemouth at 10am is an error.... Even Aberdeen is at 25C at 10.30 though.

Erm... on xcweather there's 31°C at 10:20am from Bournemouth Airport.

Surely that's a dodgy reading!

Nice warm and sunny with a fresh breeze here in West Kent, a totally lovely day.

31c reported at Hurn at 0920, but only 29c at 0950.

27c at my other station at nearby West Moors, so I am inclined to think hat the 31c was an error of some sort.
Think Hurn will get 32c today.

Incidentally, what's with all these different "heat level" warnings I've been seeing of late anyway? All I wanna know if it is going to "get bloody hot" or not, rather than get confused by yet another multi-tier warning system. If you ask me, it's only serving to confuse/hype up the general public even more (I like things to be as simple as possible than all this information overload).

Oh by the way, the brisk NE wind is keeping temperature at a fresh acceptable 21 C over here, still quite sunny but can see a fog bank lurking in the distance over the Strait Of Dover but that appears to be moving away from here anyway.

28.5°C

Thank God I made it back from Heathrow early(ish).

Though the sun, the heat, the car, and Chris Rea was quite enjoyable (though not getting caught by the speed camera as a result of getting carried away with it all :-S ).

26.5c here

Solent at 28.3c looks like the hottest official site so far. Looks like 32c will not be broken today.

We've levelled off. Insane temp rises until about 45 mins ago. Now steady at 27.5c. This often happens before kicking on again mid-afternoon. Anyone know why this is?
