Not as bad as expected this morning.. the sun is actually shining, although it's still mostly cloudy, totally cloudy to the west. Seems it is clear to the east and over York - really bizarre for them to be clear while we have low cloud. I wouldn't be surprised to see it this gunk clear quicker than anticipated since it is well broken to the east and appears to be moving this year.

Whoops.. an entire paragraph about low cloud! :-)

Cloud from the east rolling in here after a clear night. Not sure why this happens but it sometimes does. I guess the wind picks up after dawn and that's enough to get the cloud across the Pennines.

Glorious....much more like it at last. Just about no wind, wall to wall blue and already it is very warm. 20C in Portree, 23C in our back garden just now, over 18C on my in the shade screened unit. It's going to be a warm one
