Edit - I did some googling and found that July is the wettest month of the year for Congleton, at over 75mm!

I'm sure I just heard Darren Bett say that Carlisle had had 80mm overnight and into this morning. It was relentless for hour after hour and I wish I could have measured it.

Just 1.3mm from the showery activity today. I suspect that a few miles to my N, S, W and E picked up considerably more!! My total now stands at 70.7mm which is about average for this immediate area, as far as I can make out.

Today's blob is a bit south of the GFS, WRF and NAE projections, and perhaps a little faster.

In terms of latitude it's close to the BBC forecast from yesterday, and it's only a little faster if at all - kudos to them.

Rainfall stats: 1st-21st July   1.7mm (6.2% LTA)       1st-26th 7.8mm (22.96%)       1st-29th 20.9mm (55.16%)

Quite a large recovery late on, but then this is typically the driest month of the year here with a LTA of just 41mm.

51.2mm in Evesham - which is just 1mm above the 81-00 ave for Pershore.   However, worth noting that Pershore recorded more rainfall on the 23rd than I did for the whole month.

Driest month for over a year with only 14mm of rain. I think might have to go back to march 2012 or earlier to have seen a drier month here.
