Probably the nicest conditions of the summer today in London. 32C but a fresh breeze meaning it's not at all sticky or sweaty. Just right to sit in the sun on a late/long lunchbreak!

Wow.. it's now 29.2C here and 29.0C at Church Fenton - the temperature is absolutely rocketing. 30C a real possibility.

Who'se got the hottest.


Must have been quite a few 32s and possibly some 33s.


Amazing given the strength of the breeze. It was that which made me think I wouldn't make 32C.

Observations between 7.30 pm last night and 8.45 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Clear spells and variable cloud amounts.
THIS MORNING: Unbroken sunshine.
THIS AFTERNOON: Unbroken sunshine, it wasn't until in the evening altocumulus castellanus started showing up.
CURRENT: Mainly fine, scattered blood-coloured altocumulus.       25.6 C.         67% humidity.         Dewpoint: 19.1 C.          Calm winds.           Falling slowly to 1006.8 mb.

WINDS: Light south for most of the time.
AIR QUALITY: Good.
VISIBILITY: Superb.
COMFORT FACTOR: Warm and dry during the day, then it became uncomfortably humid and sutry later on in the afternoon and into the evening.
RAINFALL (in mm):   Nil.
TEMPERATURES (in C):          Max: 29.9 at 5.45 pm.          Min: 15.6 at 4 am.
PRESSURE (in mb):             Max: 1015.8 at 9 pm last night.              Min: 1006.8 currently.

I've just returned from a very reasonable 2 week spell of weather on the SE coast of Cornwall.


Just downloaded the station and observed that a max of 31.5c occured at 17.00hrs on this particularly hot day !


The hottest day since July 2006..incredible.
