How about this goes right down to England needing one wicket and the convicts needing two runs, and then bird gloves one to Prior.

I find it all a bit sad. I guess I want to see a contest but, because England are the better side, it doesn't look like happening. In fact England are so much better (at least with the bat)  'do nothing and sit back' captaincy is enough.

wow.. Watto and Haddin both gone and lost their reviews. Think the former can consider himself really unlucky to be given out, yes it was umpire's call but he should have had the benefit of the doubt.

Perhaps umps are more prepared to give LBWs with the review system and Hawkeye giving them a better idea of what could and couldn't be hitting the stumps.

Whatever, we've broken the back of this now and have a great chance of wrapping this up.

In the real world the ball hitting the stumps anywhere will dislodge the bails. Forget all this 50% of the ball stuff. Hitting is hitting and that was hitting.

Now if it had been given N/O it would also have stood due to the ball not hitting full. To me that makes not sense for the reason I mentioned above. If the ball hits the stumps or would have hit the stumps it should be out.

Swann has just dropped a sitter.

I was a bit harsh on Swann. Wasn't a sitter.

Siddle coming down to Swann. Stumping opportunity if he misses.

I feel funny - I'm actually feeling sorry for the convicts. I don't think England deserve to be 3-0 up, because most have played well below their ability. The Australians have been pugnacious and tried their bloody hearts out.

Didn't the Aussies go down to a similar batting collapse in the 2nd test last month to what they had tonight?

Bell has been consistent, Broad in this match, Anderson in the first Test, Pietersen at Old Trafford, Swann at Lord's.

Why should you feel sorry for the Aussies? I don't!

They are nowhere near what they were in the days of Shane Warne & co back in the 90's, of that there is no doubt.

To quote Sir Beef, about ten mins ago:

"England have outperformed the Aussies with bat, ball and in the field this series"

He's right, we have. As Kevin has mentioned above, someone has come to the party each time. Something the Aussies were so formidable for mid 90s. You don't need 11 players performing miracles.
KevBrads1

The last time the Aussies didn't win a Test in an Ashes series was in 1977, Boycott's return series.

Since that 5-0 drubbing of us in 2006-07, the Aussies have won only 2 Tests in the last 14 Tests against England. England have won 8 and 5 of the last 6.

The Aussies have won just 2 Tests in the last 3 Ashes series in England including this one.
