Morning,

Very wet and windy after a stormy night. Top gust speed overnight was 66.9mph at 03:38 and we have had 24mm of rain in 7 hours. It is lashing down. Wind speeds have decreased, blowing around F6 just now, but I'm expecting a pickup to severe gale once again later today. Temps fairly mild.

High wind warnings in force on the A87 Skye and A9 Kessock Bridges. Lots of disruption to Calmac services.

We had a grass frost this morning. Got down to 3.3'C and there was ice on the car roof

The main rain belt has arrived here as it's now raining quite properly. A bit of a contrast after having woken up to brilliant clear blue skies at 6 am this morning.
   The strong south west wind is having the effect of making the current temperature of 15.3 C feel quite cold.
