How big is that exactly and how does it compare with some of the largest oil tankers.

Length: 400 metres

Height: 73 metres

Beam: 59 metres

Deadweight: 192,800 tonnes

Max speed: 23 knots

- it is designed to cruise slowly, powered by twin 32MW (43,000 BHP) diesel engines driving two propellers at lower design speed than traditional container vessels - giving a claimed reduction in CO2 emissions per container shipped of 37% over previous designs of vessel.

Nice captures. I'd love to have seen this one in the flesh, so to speak; the Seawise Giant. Stood in end it was taller than the Empire State Building

Looking forward to seeing her pass as she comes up the Channel. In fact she must have passed and I wondered if I had seen her a couple of weeks ago.

Impressive offices Maersk have just to the right of where the ship is moored. Are the ship models still shown in glass cases in the wall?

Watched a documentary on that the other night , god it is a biggie , they were fitting the shaft ready for the propellor , the propellor alone was over £1,000,000 and it was huge .

The men were polishing the shaft at 04:00 in the morning they were working very long hours  , they were putting it into position a metre at a time , it took ages .

Remember anything after T120 is really Just For Fun
