This is worth saving if you are considering a 'good' weather station.

It's a long term test comparing the Vue with an official Met Office site using a Stevenson Screen and a VP2.
For the most part temperatures were within 0.5C of the Stevenson screen which is surprisingly good, but it details certain conditions when errors can be more like 2C

It's a relatively large pdf due to images, not overly weighty to look through.

• In the author’s opinion the Davis Vantage Vue AWS represents
good value for money for those who require a simple or ‘starter’
system, or where ease and simplicity of installation are paramount

yes I have one of these and I noted that its placement is crucial, particularly in relation to absorbing long wave radiation. I think that the report is balanced and right - though of course I would like something a bit more "professional" if I had the space and could afford it!

I've had one for just under a year and about two months ago kept receiving a 'low battery transmitter' warning on the inside console, I'd had this intermittently since the Spring. I E-mailed Davis Support, completely useless and kept suggesting solutions after I'd explained I'd already tried them, they were very slow in responding where four or five days would elapse before getting a response.

I then contacted the WeatherShop in the UK where I bought it and they asked me to send it back to them. This I did and they've sent me a replacement station and refunded most of the postage. I thought customer service was dead in the UK but was impressed with the weather shop.

I just need to try and work out how to get my weather data into an easy accessible format. I've looked at this 'cumulus' and I find it totally incomprehensible.
