This may sound like an extremely odd question, but I need help identifying a date. Obviously, being me all I have to go on is the weather! This is what I know
- The date in question occured probably no Earlier than 1999 and no later than 2005. Although it is possible it did occur slightly earlier.
- During the summer period from between Late July to Early September
- There was a linear frontal system in Ireland that day, the rain band was orientated north to south, and was aligned approximately with belfast and dublin which was also its Eastern extent. The western extent was somewhere closeish to the W coast, but not into the atlantic I don't think.
- The rain on the E side of the band was torrential (Definately >16mm/h) and starting appruptly, the western side was far more fragmented. It is easily possible there was some element of convection or showers embedded, with possible thunderstorms and hail.
- Most of the rest of the UK was dry and sunny, although I am a little less sure on this
This may seem a really wierd question, and I appreciate its probably an inpossible task. But I would be eternally grateful if anyone could give a likely date for this event.
Thanks.
