We're looking set to see some thundery activity later this afternoon, it could well affect Southern counties of the UK later this afternoon and this evening.

Yes in the current unstable southerly flow we remain under threat of more organised areas of activity over the next few days.
One such area as you say is due later today and overnight and may deliver quite a bit of rain in a band from Sussex to Wales.

Of more interest is teh WRF modelling of a large area of thundery rain for Thursday across teh SOuth an dthen into teh Midlands. Quite a bit of rain on this one at the present time.

Yellow Warning out from the Met for the SW for today:

"An area of heavy, thundery rain will affect SW England today, with the heaviest outbreaks likely to affect south Cornwall and perhaps south Devon. 20-30mm could fall in three hours, whilst 10-15mm could fall locally in one hour. However, due to the convective nature of the rainfall, some places in the yellow area will see relatively little."

Watch out for Thursday for heavy, thundery rain giving some localized torrential downpours in places and local flooding.

To me it looks like another damp squib as the trough narrows and weakens like all the others since Saturday. As a result there looks like precious little rain from this feature for anyone away from Cornwall and South Devon.

This Low pressure's behaviour has been a nightmare to forecast with it's extension NE much more limited than was previously thought.

After a couple of far away rumbles it's gone quiet.

Rain not to heavy.

Some more thundery rain to the SW, but of greater note is the bow echo feature down by the peninsula - that's good some good electrificiation and is the sort of thing estofex highlighted for severe wind gust potential.

Edit: lightning flashes very bright and virtually continuous, just hope it don't bypass here.

No rain yet here Nemi but the lightning is continual with virtually no breaks and the thunder is getting louder by the minute.
