we had a very mild winter and temperatures stayed around +14C, would this affectthe sea temperatures around the Channel?Just thinking, that if we had a very Mild Winter would that reflect an early Thunderyseason next year? or will the sea temperatures be about the same if we did have a Cold Winter?Because (it seems) that we seem to have more Storms in the Summer following a Mild Winter.Anyone have any stats to back this up?
I dread to think
I would think it will at least make for a pleasant and early start to Spring for around here. It was like living at Newfoundland last Spring after the Strait of Dover remained cold for longer than normal after that long and cold winter! But I also would think it'll all be in the upper air temperatures and dewpoints as well. It's no good in having warm seas around the UK hoping it would encourage storm developents in the summer if uppers remained warm as well.
