16.2mm so far, 15.6mm of that fell this afternoon and most around 17.15, I was soaked to the skin walking just 50 yrds to our works canteen.

The rain has commenced over here. 5 mm has already fallen so far today.

Does look set to be a rather moist 24 hours for around here . . . that makes a change! Models have penned between 20 mm to 50 mm of rain across Kent by this time tomorrow so I guess the target figure is something like 35 mm. I generally get to get my high rainfall totals when the wind is coming in from the north east.

Dare I say it . . . but if only it is mid January! I know I've gone off cold winters in general but this would probably make for quite a significant snow event.

We seem to be getting this stalled/blocked pattern more often, in recent years, so a significant snow event could be more likely for you, along with other significant precipitation events inbetween the lengthy dry spells!

Hi John! At the moment it is coming in dribs and dribs where most of it are occurring over North Kent and the Essex/East Anglia coast, I think it won't be until this evening will it actually get going properly before easing away tomorrow morning.
  But yes, it isn't really being a straight-forward type Autumn this year. 26 years ago, the Great Gale will have struck us in five days time.
