Highest gust was 50mph mid-afternoon.

The North Sea is furious - it's quite a high tidetoo at about 8pm.
Redcar lifeboat cam is quite well lit after dark, there must be better ones.

Observations between 8 pm last night and 9 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Clear breaks and variable cloud amounts.
THIS MORNING: Sunny spells and fleeting passing showers first thing this morning, it showed off a long lasting (15 minutes) raindow to my west. Then the rest of the morning went by on a bright note with sunny periods and variable cloud amounts.
THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny spells and partial cloud cover. There was an odd light shower at 5 pm.
CURRENT: Partial cloud and clear breaks.      9.7 C.        77% humidity.        Dewpoint: 5.9 C.        Fresh north winds.          Falling slowly to 1015.0 mb.

WINDS: Fresh to strong north the whole time.
AIR QUALITY: Superb! Sparkling clean and fresh.
VISIBILITY: Excellent for most of the time.
COMFORT FACTOR: Cold and fresh! The wind added a chill factor to it all. It did get a little damp this morning but the fresh wind quickly dried things up during the day.
RAINFALL (in mm):     Trace.
TEMPERATURES (in C):         Max: 13.4 at 1 pm.          Min: 7.9 at 4 am.
PRESSURE (in mb):            Max: 1015.6 at 8 am.          Min: 1012.3 at 6.30 am.

The Alpine webcams are showing heavy snowfall.
For example Stelvio had a little wet snow this morning but now there may be about a foot of dry snow.
Still some cars there but it will soon be closed I expect.
