Heavy shower just gone through ,first of many looking atthe radar, increased the wind strength for a short period

Frequent blustery showers with short breaks between to blue sky. Blowing gale 8, gusting severe gale 9 in the showers...top speed just over 52mph a short while ago. Feeling cool, especially in the wind.

Wind gusts have just topped 57mph. High wind warnings are in force on the A87 Skye Bridge of course. Calmer for us tomorrow, but consistent gales after that for the rest of next week.....oh joy!

Commodore Clipper is cancelled from the Channel Islands - its extremely rare for them to cancel that boat, it pretty much sails in anything.  I spent 18 hours on the bloody thing when we had the bad weather/snow etc earlier on this year, trying to get back from the UK to Guernsey the captain told us it was the worst he had sailed in and he has been the captain for about 25 years.  Wind is starting to pick up here - seas are very rough now.

Seas are horrible, wind seems to have dropped significantly, but it may be that it has gone Southerly at the moment. Steady rain.
