Observations between 8.30 pm last night and 7.45 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Clear for the first of the night, then there was a spell of heavy and blustery rain at 2 am.
THIS MORNING: Sunny spells and partial cloud cover. There was a couple of heavy showers.
THIS AFTERNOON: Bright at first, then cloud thickened up during the course of the afternoon. Windy.
CURRENT: Cloudy with light rain.      14.9 C      87% humidity.    Dewpoint: 12.8 C.      Strong south west winds.         Falling slowly to 999.4 mb.

WINDS: Fresh to strong south west the whole time.
AIR QUALITY: Excellent.
VISIBILITY: Good. Some haze.
COMFORT FACTOR: Wet last night and into this morning, drier in the afternoon but now becoming damp again. Continuing quite mild despite the wind.
RAINFALL (in mm):      12.6 C.
TEMPERATURES (in C):        Max: 16.5 at 1.45 pm.         Min: 12.3 at 8.45 am.

Steady moderate rain here now (rain gauge packed up!), pressure dropping and wind strengthening...
On the Mid Sussex downs,156m amsl on ridge near Ardingly. Igloo built in our garden,2010, lasted till march !

East Grinstead in West Sussex rain has been getting heavier along with the winds I can now hear it battering my daughters front window every 1minute or so.
