994.6mb. My ears are going to start popping if this accelerated rate of fall continues.

2.2mm so far.

Just waiting for my hearing aids to go flying off by themselves.

Have recorded a pressure drop of 10 mb in the space of three hours as that low pressure inches closer to here.
6 mm of rain has fallen so far, but I suspect Steve may be recording more than I am by now. Think I will ask Santa to get me a more decent weather station after all.
Oh, and winds are now being a very strong south - straight in from the Channel which does suck. Much rather if it is coming in from the SW where I become more sheltered.

But now the rain seemed to have stopped and even the wind has eased back. Pressure is now at 983 mb and I think that's it bottoming out. I've also noticed a jump in temperatures, it was 10.7 C two hours ago, now it's 12.4 C.
I've recorded 10 mm dead on of rain.

PS: There's a definite shift in wind direction as the bit of rain that is still falling is now splashing onto my west-facing hobby room window.

Just about there I think! Pressure down to 982.0, but temp hinting at rising - up 0.1 to 10.0

Very stormy after a dry start clear start in Exeter this morning up until 2pm! I drove to Tiverton the sun became hazy and around 3pm and then A361 link road to Barnstaple and started drizzling and soon as I got to South molton it rained heavily and then when I arrived Braunton 4.30pm the rain was very heavy combined with strong winds.

The frontal system passed around 8pm - was a very quick system!

Temperature around Knowstone/Rackenford was around 6c then rose to 9c in Braunton and earlier it was 13c when I left 10C over Rackenford/Knowstone and 12c in Exeter. - So much milder but all in all a very unsettled and blustery day. - At least tomorrow will be a good day to dry some clothes outside or mow the lawn etc.

Another fairly good event.

Rainfall total so far stands at 13.8mm with probably another 3 or 4mm due from the wrap around occlusion.

Current temperature is 7.9c after a max of 12.9c at 00.53hrs.

Pressure bottomed out at 980.8mb at 05.21hrs...now 983.1mb rising.

Peak rain rate 64.8mm/hr at 05.15hrs.

The cyclonic nature of the event meant that when I went  to bed at 10pm it was a screaming southerly and now with pressure moving away to the east its a screaming northerly.

Textbook stuff.

But indeed, it's currently 7.5 C under a fresh northerly. Dare I say it, but what would happen if we had the exact same kind of synoptics in late January?

Anyway, now to try and get that leaky roof fixed ASAP.
