With last night's minimum being the coldest of the autumn so far at -5.8°C (I think) at Katesbridge Co. Down and the possibility that tonight might end up equally as cold inland up here I thought that a new thread to keep an eye on the low temperatures in various places in late autumn might be in order.

So, if you have a low temperature to report, either your own or another WS' then please post it here. 😄

I'll start by pointing out that at 6pm it had already dipped to -0.1°C at Tulloch Bridge.

In the end there was quite a widespread frost across the north of the mainland last night (ignore the Aboyne 5°C the WS stopped reporting at 6pm last night)

Actually, to be fair, it was nice on Monday with mild sunshine - after what has been a wild and stormy night!
However, at the same time, it does have that "traditional" look and feel about it all and at least we shouldn't have to concern ourselves too much with water restrictions next summer.
Now I am hoping for a decent window of opportunity to get my leaky roof fixed next week but the outputs are offering little hope of that (despite yesterday's talks of things settling down later on in the month, in fact, I've even mentioned that in my own forecast!).

I think it's going to be a while before I start complaining about our "boring Kent climate" again.

PS: Back on topic, I have reported temperatures getting down to 3.3 C in the small hours of Tuesday morning. Could have got lower than that and thus enabling a frost to set in if it weren't for general cloud and rain sweeping in from the Atlantic before dawnbreak time.

Same here, yet another v warm autumn,no sign of jack frost and it would not suprise me if

we didn`t get any air frost during the metorlogical autumn.

This autumn is very similar to autumn 2011,except much wetter this year.
