I can report our first wintry precipitation of the year here in Sheffield. We've had lots of hail and even sleety flakes. It's a very unsettles sky out there and car temperature was 2.5c.

Observations between 7 pm last night and 5.15 pm currently.

LAST NIGHT: Clear spells and variable cloud amounts. That enabled a touch of frost to form by dawnbreak.
THIS MORNING: Bright at first, then cloud quickly thickened up during the course of the morning until it was thick enough to produce rain by 10.30 am and carried on raining for the rest of the morning.
THIS AFTERNOON: Persistent and moderate rain in the first half of the afternoon then it eased off at 3 pm as the cloud thinned out and clear breaks developed by dusk time.
CURRENT: Mostly cloudy with a few slivers of clear sky.        5.7 C.      97% humidity.        Dewpoint: 5.3 C.       Calm winds.         Steady at 1002.7 mb.

WINDS: Light to occasionally moderate south last night, then light and variable in direction during the day.
AIR QUALITY: Superb, very clean and fresh.
VISIBILITY: Excellent this morning, the mostly fair during the day due to rain.
COMFORT FACTOR: Cold and wet. At least the wind has been calm so there wasn't that chill factor thing anyway.
RAINFALL (in mm):  11.1
TEMPERATURES (in C):         Max: 7.4 at 10 am.          Min: 3.0 at 6.30 am.
PRESSURE (in mb):           Max: 1008.6 at 7 am.           Min: 1001.6 at 7 pm last night.

Currently 2.3C.  Maximum temp today of just 4.7C so the lowest daily maximum since 7 April.  However, it was lovely and sunny all day after a frosty start.

I will have to check but I believe today was the first single digit maximum since that very cold day in late May. Infact, it was comfortably into single figure territory with a feeble maximum temperature of just 6.5c.

Currently clear but with low cloud feeding in from the west.
