This is the most ridiculous thing I have EVER seen in national print.

It's almost sick to suggest it, and I cannot believe such tripe can ever be printed.

As a journalist myself, I shudder at the tactics of some of my "national" colleagues.

Ridiculous.

And then we get this drivel:

Fiona Brookes, of the Campaign Against Climate Change, said: “Climate change means our seasons have moved out of sync.

“The UK’s weather system is so complex that we will see more and more extreme weather.”

Climate change again...we are all doomed.....Don't even get me started on that old chestnut.

And why is it that EVERY storm in the world is always heading in our direction? Have we got a giant storm magnet that attracts everything to these shores?

I just give up with these idiots.

It is sad that all these bulls**ters can only think of hijacking a disaster to get a headline.
Really sad.

Please don't give this the airtime it doesn't deserve.
I shall be emailing the editor of the newspaper responsible in the morning with my own particular opinion on this sort of disgusting freeloading.

It won't make any difference of course.

And back on subject .......

Ignoring the insensitive and ridiculous headline, there is technically a modicrum of truth in the Daily Star's story - insofar that every cyclone will have an effect on subsequent weather systems a week or two later.   As, indeed, does every block of high pressure - it it hangs around an extra day, it impacts on the path of a trough which in turn affects the development of another ridge that then means a depression tracks further north ..... and so on.    Consequently, it's quite possible that Christmas will be even warmer and sunnier than it would have been had Haijan been a slightly smaller storm .....

I did find myself wondering what on Earth was going through the editor's mind at that time. Couldn't he have stopped and thought for a moment that perhaps it wasn't a very good headline before giving it the go ahead.

But, I guess it's all based on sales.

I see that the Express is also up to it's usual tricks this morning, I can't be bothered to provide a link to their front page headline as it is getting a bit repetitive.

I haven't bought a newspaper for years based on such crap such as that. It is amazing to me though that despite my knowledge of weather and my telling those I know what rubbish about weather gets printed they still end up falling on the side that 'If it's in print it must be true'.

Picking up a point that someone made earlier regarding that their maybe a little truth in it, indeed there maybe but once the storms dissolved and the whole atmospheric situation that caused it dissolves and rectifies itself it's long term effect would only be a few weeks at the very most.

Even if we have a bad winter this year with snow and frost It would be unlikely to have anything to do with the typhoon in the Phillipines or severe weather anywhere else for that matter.

As a general rule of thumb: if you read it in a newspaper, it's probable either not entirely true, or they accidently on purpose missed out some of the pertinent facts.

Newspapers are to the truth what red paint is to building a time machine.
