This has always puzzled me, when watching the BBC forecasts, they occasionally pan down to the channel islands. But it happens pretty rarely. So why do they not do it all the time, or why do they even bother doing it occasionally? Wierd...

I guess the BBC just extrapolate the forecast for NW England to include Man (which presumably gets the local NW BBC station?)

I dare say that the broadcaster's reach is more important than the Met Office's reach in this case. But the Met Office do forecast for the whole world as we see on BBC World News, and often forecast for Europe; Ski Forecasts, resort forecasts, etc. So I don't suppose they'd not provide information for the CI or IOM. No doubt there is some arrangement.

If you enter e.g. St Helier (for Jersey) on the MetO site you get the full range of forecasts with all the bells and whistles (e.g. rainfal radar maps) but if you enter Cherbourg you only get the more restricted World Service forecast.

Perhaps we'd be nicer to them if they weren't havens for tax-doging scumbags?
