The wind has sporadically knocked out power supplies over the past few days, today it was the turn of lightning to take it's toll. And more wild weather is on the way....

Well, we've had everything but the kitchen sink - and sunshine - thrown at us today. Very squally showers bringing rain, hail, sleet and above about 150m, snow. The mountains look stunning with good cover. It has been windy all day with galesfor the most part, but storm force gusts in the squalls (over 60mph). We've had multiple lightning storms as well, one strike this morning took out 18,000 electricity users, including the mainline that supplies Skye and all the Western Isles. We've also seen lightning falshes this evening. And there is more bad weather to come tomorrow evening, with gusts to 70mph overnight into Wednesday once again. Thursday also looks wild though some speculation on track, and then Friday / Saturday sees speeds of around 60 or 70mph yet again. Phew....never a dull moment
