If you can't have a snowy Christmas, then a thundery one would suffice in my book. Southern England looks prone to some vigorous convection tomorrow.

Had brief hail today as I was out scoping the immense flooding out there.
No ESTOFEX warning but a bit of lightning would make for a different style of Christmas to those I've seen before.
On that note, Happy Christmas everyone!
Sister-in-Law has just posted some pics on FB of hail cover from Seaton, Devon this morning. Been a lot of showers coming off the channel and some sferic activity, as there has been in Western Scotland
Dark over Portsmouth. A bit of hail earlier (late a.m) and with a thunder risk this evening/overnight. Hope so!
Just heard a rumble of thunder and it's black as yer hat over them thar hills. Does appear to be skimming by me to the north rather than overhead, though. A shame it isn't dark right now as it would show up any lightning better.
Quite a viscious little line of showers developed inthe channel, just clipping East Kent. We're right on the cusp of a very evil looking shower here.
dodgy looking stuff coming up from the channel. I thought it was supposed to be a dry day today!

Now technically a white xmas as the rain has arrived and has been turning to sleet in the heavier stuff
Sferic activity close to Anglesey at the moment in association with a shower trough that heading eastwards
A few places in the S and SW might see some lightning activity during the evening. Saves on the fireworks.
2 distinct lines heading along the Channel. Plenty of sferics as well
Some distant sferics here last hour.Nice way to see out the year.
