Just back from Dover - power has been restored to most, if not all, of the villages we were called to help. I spoke to one poor resident who's had to throw all her food away, having had no power since Monday.

To think it could all be repeated tomorrow

Expect the yellow warnings for rain to be removed for the south imminently, as soon as they notice the radar...

Latest NAE shows a whopping 7mm here and even that may be an overestimate.

After a calm and sunny day the wind is starting to get up now. Nothing to severe, yet.... The first few spots of rain are just hitting the window.

Pressure 968.2 down from 972.6 an hour ago 981 3 hours ago.

Like already posted its as if the calm spell has been broken all of a sudden. I went to town for a quickie and the calm dry weather changed to wet and windy in the space of half an hour. The river in now with in its banks.

Pressure was low anyway, but now falling rapidly. After a high of 986.4hPa @ 11am we are at 966.9hPa and falling rapidly. Breezy, blowing gale 8 and gusting 53mph or severe gale 9.

Similar theme here. The calm here was very quickly replaced with gusty winds that far outdo anything we've experienced so far this winter. It's going to be a noisy night!

Can hear the wind picking up markedly the last few minutes, there's a big field to my south with no houses to block the wind and the wind is coming from that direction.
