Even if we arn't likely to see any low temps worthy of attention I think it would be interesting to watch for some potentially very mild weather.

First event is sunday

http://modeles.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfs/runs/2014010212/gfs-1-84.png?12

Lots of very moist tropical maritime air in that warm sector. I'm guessing sunday night might expect to see double digit minimuns across the country, perhaps as high as 13C in one or two favoured spots. Its unlikely to be record breaking though, for that we would need a longer and more sustained feed; and daytime temperatures are unlikely to be as impressivly high. Although 15C is perhaps not out of the question if the cloud breaks in a warm sector.

OK so far nothing too special, 13C recorded at shannon. Temperatures should really warm up in England this evening; expecting some very mild night time maxima for the SE.

Well this system has a lot of extra-tropical air in it and that mix with ex-Canadian Arctic air is going to cause other problems. Meanwhile the broad-brush BBC forecasts show London at 13'C tomorrow

Having said that, it's blowing a hoolie and pouring down, so I'm sure if I was stood out in it for long it would feel quite parky!!

When is this Exacta Weather big freeze coming? I've been waiting since about 2011.

It's been mild here all winter. Not at any stage this winter have I even felt chilly, let alone cold. You know how mild it is when even the missus doesn't need the heating on. Incredible 👍

Was very heavy for an hour between about 2000 and 2100.  Got 7 or 8mm in that time

The fire was on this week but that's because I've come from 30 degrees to 12!....But still very balmy really.
