This amazing year for heat records just keeps on going.

Sydney could reach 40c tomorrow and smash it's October temp record and the spring record with it. The bush is tinder dry at the moment and there is forecast to be very strong NW with the 40c so the fire danger is at the extreme level, just one stage below catestrophic. Should a fire break out tomorrow it will be very hard work indeed containing it.

What makes this different from other years is the large area of bush that is at the extreme level. All the way from the Illawarra region south of Sydney to Port Stephens in the north, that is a BIG area.

Fingers crossed tomorrow goes off without incident.

My sister has posted a picture of the view she has of the hills and the smoke from a fires that have broken out, from where she lives. There was a lot of smoke as you can see! Seems as if its been brough under control and she says that the sea breeze is on its way to cool things down a little as it was 40c at 10.30am this morning. This was taken in Ellenbrook (Swan Valley) looking towards the Perth hills.
