The total rainfall for December in SE England was actually slightly lower than for 2012 (138.7mm vs 138.9mm) due to a relatively dry start to the month

22mm, so about what you'd expect thus far.

The Moray coast in particular has been very dry this month - just 1.4mm of rain at Lossiemouth and 3.2mm at Kinloss.

Have a look on Wunderground, either put in your town or postcode and see who/what turns up

Rainfall ticking up again. 7.6mm in the night brings the total to 64.2mm at the mid month stage.

It now appears that we are on course for our 4th consecutive month of over 100mm being recorded. Incredible to think that the average monthly totals sit between 60-70mm here in this period (O,N.D.J).

Been very wet these last few weeks. It seems we catch an awful amount of precipitation when the Jetstream flows in a more southerly route than normal.Up until last night had 102.4mm rain and its been v heavy again this a.m. (FYI we have had 337.7mm in the last 30 days). Thats an awful amount, especially compared to some people not that far away in the NE. At least we are 1/4 way up a hill.
