tbh I was rather underwhelmed by last year's cold spell. I remember there being alot of falling snow, but all of it was the wet, sticky sort. Consequently the depths were never that great and it wasn't particularly cold either; with temps hovering a bit above freezing by day and a bit below by night.

The last time I saw snow like that was when I was a kid living in Yorkshire. Even when I was a teenager it had stopped snowing like that, so I do have to go back to childhood. Then moving to Torbay meant I would never see it again, at least without travelling. 1980's South Yorkshire, it's not my memory that's too fond it really hasn't snowed for me like that since then. Love the light in the second pic.

No but I used a photoshop filter called soft glow, and also 'tonal contrast'.
