We keep hearing about how climate change will make extreme weather more likely... well why is that other countries are managing to get extreme heat and extreme cold every year, or it seems, and all we ever seem to manage is moderately persistent rain and a few gales?

(btw the cold in Mongolia isn't that unusual - the lack of cold and snow earlier this winter in Siberia was far more noteworthy)

Yeah heavy lake affect snow is affecting Gary, Indiana on the coastline of Lake Michigan. Reed Timmer is currently there reporting live on his facebook page. He's posted a few videos and it looks intense. I'm so jealous
